I Did My First Twitch Stream Last Night
Well, last night and this morning…
Until a week or so ago, I didn’t even have a Twitch stream! I have no idea why I created an account. I guess I was bored. But I did.
On my first night on Twitch I found a streamer who was playing my favorite game — Stray. And I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I especially love watching people play Stray but I’ve watch streamers play lots of games since that first night.
And somewhere along the way, I thought — what if I started streaming? Would anyone want to watch me badly play games? I mean, I’m not great at most games. It takes me a while to figure things out.
But people always say I’m funny. So maybe people would want to watch me?
Last night, I finally did it.
I streamed Disney Dreamlight Valley (I’m very much a cozy gamer) because I kind of know what I’m doing there. Found out I’d forgotten a lot of it.
But anyway…
I had a bit of a hard time getting my microphone to work. I don’t have a headset yet so I’m using the Dualsense controller on my PS5. Once we got that worked out it was great.
I had up to 8 people watch and I got 2 new followers. Ok, it’s not much but maybe a start?
I really enjoyed having someone to talk to while I play. And I liked getting help when I was doing things. It’s such a great community!
I’m definitely going to do it again. Today in fact.
Update:
I did stream the day I wrote this and I tried something new — Hogwart’s Legacy. I’ve actually been itching to get into this game and I’m really glad I did. I played for about 4 hours and had another excellent stream. Not a load of viewers but a few new ones and 2 new followers.
I’m at the lake right now so streaming isn’t really possible but the weekend is coming soon so I’ll be on!
